Piss President, 2006

Piss President
New works by BRAD BIANCARDI
Featuring a collection of drawings resulting from a recent examination of our nation’s capitol
15 July—13 August 2006
Crawl Space member artist Brad Biancardi presents “Piss President,” featuring a collection of drawings resulting from a recent visit to our nation’s capitol. In this exhibit, Biancardi intends to create an evocative tension between the secretive opacity of our current government and the persistent, close examination that is the process of drawing. These works convey the sense of inhabiting federal buildings, official and administrative, from a new corrected perspective. “For me, drawing is simultaneously an additive and reductive process; and to have the opportunity to draw from these interiors was a cathartic act of repairing the damage that has been done by those who govern our country.” Brad Biancardi received his MFA in Painting from the University of Washington in 2005 and has held membership with Crawl Space since that time. Crawl Space is a non-profit artist-run gallery working to further the creation and exhibition of innovative artwork by emerging artists and to incite community interest in the visual arts. Since opening in 2003, we have provided curatorial and installation opportunities for over 150 emerging artists in monthly public exhibitions. The Allied Arts Foundation provides our 501(c)3 identification.
